Fit for any Allstar Selections: Sole View: Jumpman Select/All star retro active review

Brand Jordan Jumpman Select Basketball Sneaker Ray Allen & Michael Finley 2000

JUMPMAN SELECT/ALL-STAR

Every NBA player yearns for the day when

his name has been selected to play among

the NBA's elite, in the NBA All-Star game.

For the six Jordaniares that may be

chosen to showcase their skills, their shoe

nice will be the Jumpman Select

A clean and workable sneaker that released for the 2000 All-star game in Washington D.C. that year. This released right before Jordan's 01/02 season comeback with the Washington Wizards. The Jumpman Select followed the design language of the Air Jordan 15 which was inspired by Supersonic jets, fashion and TPU/ iridescent accents on the upper.

Air Jordan Jumpman All-Star (2000)

From a design stand point the Jumpman Select/Allstar was safe with some subtle details that made it attraction for fans of Jordan brand who or their parents weren't going to pay astronomical amounts for a sneaker that you're going to run around, play in and demolish within a school year/years time.

The Daily Jordan: Jordan Jumpman All-Star - 2000 - Air Jordans, Release Dates & More | JordansDaily.com

Traction: 7.5/10

These were designed for the hardwood but could also hand the blacktop. Better indoors than outdoors it was good to use them up at the local gym or Rec center then them outdoors at the end of the season to work on your game. Solid rubber outsole with peaked herringbone traction pods at the forefoot and heel. If it isn't broken, then don't mess with it. Peaked herringbone works well and is at the top of basketball performance traction patterns

Cushioning: 8.5/10

The cushioning was standard for Nike/Jordan Brand basketball sneakers back then (Pylon or Polyurethane midsole with heel air (encapsulation or visible) and a low profile responsive Zoom air unit in the forefoot. It worked and lasted well indoors and outdoors.

Fit: 8.5/10

The fit wasn't bad at all. Not the best fitting sneaker of all time, but it was serviceable. There was some slight front to back movement, which can contribute to blisters, but I was comfortable on the court and didn't have to worry too much. The full grain Leather upper will breakdown over time, but the synthetic leather rands (with less stretch) helped to keep your foot on the footbed (at least visually)

Comfort: 8.5/10

The comfort on the Jumpman Select/Allstar was good. Not perfect, but good enough for competitive games, practices and on court training/ shoot arounds. The lining, fit and cushioning all contributed to a sneaker that I could were on and off of the court with much discomfort.

Materials: 8.5/10

The mix of Full grain/floater leather and iridescent synthetic leather contributed to a commutable, stable and breathable sneaker on and off of the court.

Durability/8.5/10

The Jumpman Select/Allstar was durable enough for indoor play especially if you were lightweight for your height. it would still last with on outdoor courts, but the raction and cushioning wouldn't last as long by comparison.

Style/looks Aesthetics:

This is not the most popular Sneaker from the Jumpman/Jordan family, but it did have some features and details that I liked. Only releasing in one color way (that I know (there may have been a black based color way that was a sample/exclusive or overseas release). The white/Navy/Copper color is still unique the use of color shift/irredescent synthetic material on the upper and heel pull tab, Metallic copper piping and a copper chromed Jeweled Jumpan logo on the lateral side. The Protruding leather tongue was also a feature that stood out connecting back to sneakers like the Jumpman Swift 6 and Air Jordan 15.

Overall: A fun performance sneaker from Jordan Brand. It was also good enough to were with jeans and last the score year. Maybe you can find and decent pair online to add to your collection!
